Hillary Engineering is a new, family-led electrical engineering firm built on the combined strengths of two complementary professional backgrounds: technical excellence in utility engineering and exceptional client-focused service. We bring together deep experience in electrical distribution systems with strong organizational, administrative, and customer-relationship capabilities to deliver reliable, clear, and high-quality project outcomes.
Our Technical Foundation
With more than a decade of experience in electrical distribution engineering, standards development, system modeling, and infrastructure planning, our engineering lead has supported utilities across Western Canada. This includes developing construction and maintenance standards, performing fault and load-flow analysis, guiding asset management programs, and coordinating multidisciplinary engineering and field teams.
This technical background allows Hillary Engineering to approach every project with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety considerations, and practical field realities. From concept planning to detailed design and construction support, we focus on delivering solutions that are robust, efficient, and aligned with client needs.

Our administrative and client-facing lead brings years of experience in customer service, member support, financial operations, and technical troubleshooting. About Our Founders
William Hillary is an Electrical Distribution Engineer at FortisBC with over a decade of experience in utility engineering, standards development, and network modeling. He has led multidisciplinary teams, developed construction and maintenance standards, and contributed to national and international standards committees. William is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia and has previous long-term engineering experience with the City of Lethbridge Electric Utility.
Heather Hillary is the Client Services and Operations Lead at Hillary Engineering. With extensive experience in customer service, financial operations, and technical support, she ensures clients receive clear, responsive, and professional guidance throughout every project. Her background includes more than a decade with the Nelson & District Credit Union, complemented by experience in tech support, small-business ownership, and community leadership. Heather also brings strong digital skills in Microsoft Office, web tools, and multi-platform systems, supporting the company’s communications and organizational workflows.
